PENUKONDA: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that his government will provide all possible help from Government side and hoped that KIA Motors along with other world-class industries will set up shop in Andhra Pradesh providing employment and be part of the development process of the State.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the KIA Motors manufacturing plant at Erramanchi village near here on Thursday, the Chief Minister congratulated the Korean Motor giant for starting its unit with world-class standards in the backward region and providing employment to locals.

‘I am happy to inaugurate the fully functional facility and hope like-minded companies will come to the state to set up their shop here. KIA has been doing a wonderful job by providing direct and indirect jobs along with its ancillary units,’ YS Jagan said.

The Chief Minister hoped that the KIA motors would expand its business and set up more plants to achieve full-fledged production capacity of 3 lakh cars. He told that this would create more employment in the state. The Chief Minister assured that Government would support the KIA Motors in all possible ways and hoped many other industries would be set up in the state soon.

The Chief Minister said that KIA Motors is doing well in the state and when fully developed, it will directly employ 11,000 people and indirectly employ 7,000. The company already employs over 3000 people and 3500 more people are employed through ancillary units.

The KIA Motors president and CEO Han Wu Park said that Kia cars were popular there and over 6,000 bookings were received in a single day. The event was attended by South Korean Ambassador in India Shin Bongkil and Kia Motors MD Kookhyun Shim. South Korea's Kia has set up an industry at Erramanchi with Rs 13,500 crore

Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana, Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Sankaranarayana, Gummanuru Jayaram, MPs K Gorantla Madhav, Thalari Rangaiah, Kapu Ramacandra Reddy, officials and representatives of KIA Motors attended the event.
