EAST GODAVARI:Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Mummidivaram constituency in East Godavari on Thursday, November 21. During his visit, the Chief Minister would grant exgratia to the fisherman who lost their livelihood due to the activities of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). YS Jagan will lay the foundation stone for a degree college in Kakinada during this schedule.

In all, 16,559 fishermen belonging to eight mandals in East Godavari lost their livelihood in 2012 when the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation conducted drilling exploration for 13 months. The petroleum company has paid a compensation of Rs 68.88 crore for a period of six months.

The company is yet to pay Rs 78.24 crore to the fishermen for the remaining period of seven months. Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government had delayed the payment of dues to the company. YSR Congress Party President had promised to clear the dues of fisherman, if voted to power.

The Chief Minister, who has seen the plight of the fisherman families, said the government would pay the remaining compensation of Rs 78.24 crore on the World Fisheries Day. As Promised YS Jagn to provide Rs, 78.22 crores to fishermen.

At 9.45 am, AP CM will arrive by helicopter at Mummidivaram Mandal.
He would leave by the road and reach the village of I.Polavaram Mandalam at 9.50 am to inaugurate Migranthatippa high-level bridge (YSR bridge).
At 10.20 am, YS Jagan will lay foundation stone for nine tourism boating control rooms at Komanapalli in Mummidivaram Mandalam.
After that, YS Jagan to pay homage to late chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
At 11.00 am - 11.45 am, YS Jagan would hand over the exgratia to fishermen.
At 12.25 pm, YSRCP president will meet Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao at his residence and will pay tributes to his father Malladi Suryanarayana who passed away recently.
YS Jagan will return Tadepalli by helicopter at 12.45 pm.
