Traffic Snarls On Srisailam Ghat Road

Srisailam: Thousands of visitors from both the Telugu states, thronged the Srisailam hill shrine and dam on Sunday causing huge traffic jams on the ghat road. The traffic jam stretched over 43 kms. With a series of holidays lined up, visitors and pilgrims from AP, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra flocked to the hill shrine. The main attraction, among other things, is the Krishna water gushing from ten crest gates at the dam. A four to five hour drive from Hyderabad took as long as 14 hours with the ghat road crammed with cars snaking their way up the road.

Atop the temple town roads are packed with tourists and pilgrims. However, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of devotees seeking darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy.
