Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh government employees dressed in black, staged a massive rally here on Sunday demanding the withdrawal of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). Speaking to media persons on behalf of the AP CPS Employee Association, Ramanjaneyulu said that the Chandrababu government should withdraw CPS immediately.

Government employees in Andhra Pradesh did not enjoy economic security of any kind post-retirement, Ramanjaneyulu said. He added that as government employees they expected economic security and other benefits. They had expected social security cover which was being denied to them, he said. The Chandrababu regime had denied them all these benefits and they were left high and dry, Ramanjaneyulu added.

According to Ramanjaneyulu, the TDP government led by Chandrababu Naidu had caused irreparable damage to the interests of employees. He congratulated Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for promising to scrap the CPS during the course of his mass contact initiative, Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
