Amaravati: Ever since he took over the office of Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has demonstrated that his task is cut out to put before the people of Andhra Pradesh: an exemplary government and administration. That he wants a government which the nation will stand up and notice is now a given – a refrain in almost every speech of his after recording a stupendous victory.

With that being his yardstick and knowing fully well that his lieutenants in the State Cabinet are equally important in achieving this feat, YS Jagan first words of advise to his Cabinet colleagues are: “Hearty congratulations to the new cabinet! Every step we take should be for the betterment of our people of AP. Let’s set an example with our work. All the very best to you.”

The Chief Minister surprised many in the political circles by appointing five deputies. Certainly having five deputy chief ministers is not just unprecedented but also unrivalled in the sense that his government means equitable distribution of political capital among various caste groups. With this one decision of his, he certainly did make the nation to stand up and take notice, signaling what is to expect in days to come from his government.
