Sensational Seizure Of Dummy EVMs In AP
Ibrahimpatnam, Mylavaram: Police in Ibrahimpatnam of Krishna district seized 2400 dummy EVMs which did not have supporting bills. The seizure took place near Tummalapalem check post in the early hours of Tuesday. According to police sources, TDP men associated with their party candidate from West Godavari P Ramanjaneyulu were transporting these dummy EVMs in a vehicle which was intercepted by the police. The cops informed higher ups who ordered the seizure of the dummy EVMs which were then taken to the police station.
The men who were transporting them said that they had purchased EVMs for Rs 16 each and showed bills to that effect. However, police determined that each EVMs cost around Rs 100 and accordingly deducted 2.40 lakhs for 2400 EVMs from the expenditure of the Bhimavaram candidate P Ramanjaneyulu. The authorities are learned to have submitted a report to the Election Commission in this regard.
