Rayadurg Assembly Constituency consists of Chintapalle, G.Madugula,Golugonda, Gudem Kotha Veedhi,Hukumpeta,Koyyuru,Madugula,Paderu,Rolugunta

Kapu Ramachandra Reddy won the 2009 elections and the 2012 By-elections and has a considerable hold in the Rayadurg region. Kalava Srinivasulu (TDP) the present MLA of Rayadurg Legislative Assembly defeated Kapu Ramachandra Reddy (90,517 votes polled) of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) by polling 92,344 votes and winning by just a margin of 1827 votes.

Kavula Srinivas served as Member of Parliament from 1999 to 2004. He tasted success in the 2014 Assembly elections by winning over Kapu Ramachandra Reddy and also managed to get a berth in Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet as Minister for Rural Housing and Information and Public Relations.

Both of them have been re-nominated for the 2019 elections. Kavula managed to get the ticket after he faced trouble from former MLC Gunapati Deepak Reddy who also filed his nomination from the constituency as TDP rebel candidate.

The Rayadurg region has been facing drought for a long time with failed crops, collapsed bore wells, unemployment issues and youth are migrating to other places in search of livelihood.

Another unique issue faced by the people in this region is the death of livestock due to the incessant blasting in the local quarries. Cattle rearing is a very important activity and many farmers and people are dependent on it. It is said that the dust and chemicals from the quarry settle on the water bodies and on the leaves, which the cattle consume. This is poisoning them and they are dying at a fast pace.

Another major issue reported is that more than 10000 villagers from this region are troubled by the heavy blasting in the local quarries which is causing heavy dust pollution. It is said that the quarrying is conducted with the support of the incumbent MLA.

With these issues and the TDP's hold weakening in the region Kapu Ramachandra Reddy faces a good chance of winning this time.
