Visakhapatnam: The Third Metropolitan Magistrate extended the remand for YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's attacker until November 23. The police produced the accused, Janupalli Srinivasa Rao before the Court as the police custody ended today.

Last month, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probed the case for six days, when the attacker was in police custody. It may be recalled that along with Srinivasa Rao's relative Vijaya Durga, his colleagues in Fusion Foods restaurant in the airport were also questioned by the SIT.

Fusion Foods restaurant owner, T Harshavardhan Prasad Choudhary, who also happens to be a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, was also called for questioning during the six day interrogation. On the other side, doubts are being raised over the police investigation being restricted to Srinivasa Rao and not the others who were indirectly involved in the attack.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP leaders have accused the AP Police of trying to protect the attacker. They have repeatedly stressed the fact that the AP Police have not been probing the conspiracy angle to the murder attempt on the Leader of Opposition in AP assembly.
