Hyderabad: YSR Congress party (YSRCP) MLA Kona Raghupathi criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for trying to mislead the people of the State on the last day of the ongoing Assembly session. Speaking to media here at the party's Central office, the MLA said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) disappointed the people in all aspects in the last four years. Chandrababu misled the public by placing the resolution on the Special Category Status (SCS) for the fourth time, he said. What is the use in passing the resolution in the Assembly at the end of the five year term?, he asked.

Raghupathi recalled that it was Chandrababu who had sidelined the issue of SCS by accepting the Special Package. At first, Chandrababu praised the Centre saying that it was offering a comprehensive package to the State, but, he later made a U-turn, he added.

"Was it not Chandrababu who acted as a roadblock to the SCS for AP? By saying that the government was trying to increase the assistance to students under the fee reimbursement scheme, Chandrababu is cheating millions of students. The TDP government deceived lakhs of unemployed youth by failing to deliver on their election promises," the YSRCP leader commented.

The MLA observed that Chandrababu was being protected by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has virtual control over the TDP, from punishment in the note for vote case. While making baseless comments against the Opposition parties, the TDP is befriending the Congress, he added.
