Just Friends

The two actors met on the sets of Dhaai Aksar Prem Ke in 2000 where they had known each other. They soon joined once again for the another film Kuch Naa Kaho in 2003 and became friends. After the movie, the duo had not joined worked together for a long time.

Aishwarya was involved in an affair with Salman Khan and the rumours even triggered that the duo were all set to get married. But Salman's abusive behaviour with Aishwarya ruined their relation. Even Abishek was engaged to Karishma Kapoor but it does not last long.

From Bunty Aur Babli

Love blossomed on the sets of Bunty Aur Babli where the actress was seen in a special song Khajra Re. The duo had spend time together while shooting for the movies Umrao Jaan, Guru and Dhoom 3 and this long period of being together helped them to get hitched and finally tie the knot.

Abishek proposal

It was at the promotions of Guru that Abhishek proposed Aishwarya for the marriage and the actress accepted it. The both then flew back to Mumbai and got engaged in 2007.

Everything went well for the both actors. But unexpected obstacles turned up before marriage as Aishwarya has dosh in her Kundali. She was then got married to a tree to get rid of it.

Much-awaited wedding

The both got married on April 17, 2007 and now have a daughter Aaradhya.
