A year on, father still awaits his missing daughter

In an incident that exemplifies a parent's worst nightmare,  Shilpa, daughter of a daily wage earner, who went missing exactly a year ago, is yet to be found.

The 18-year-old who had just completed her first year of college at Kurnool G Pulla Reddy Engineering college in Kurnool was in love with her senior Chitti Babu. On December 1, 2012, Shilpa left her hostel, leaving behind her ID card and since then has been missing.
Her parents, daily workers, father Peddanna and mother Lingamma, hailing from a poor family have tried their best to get their daughter back. They filed a complaint against Chitti Babu as well, and the police questioned the latter, but did not reach any conclusion.
They even went to CM Camp office, but to no avail. Pedanna has accused the police of a cover up as Chitti Babu's father is a head constable and is well connected.
