Hyderabad: Barely two months after a 60-year-old man raped a 6-year-old girl in Kapra area of Hyderabad, another old man aged 83 was on Wednesday arrested for raping a 12-year-old girl at a government school in the same area.

The girl, a Class 7 student at the government high school, on Tuesday complained to her parents about the sexual assault by the old man who was working as a watchman at the school. A complaint was lodged at the Kushaiguda police and the old man was arrested.

The watchman who goes by the name Satyanarayana, is alleged to have raped several girls within the school premises for several months. He was appointed a few years back after he retired from railway services. The police is investigating other complaints too.

The cops also sent seven girls to Gandhi hospital for medical examination as part of the investigation into complaints of sexual assault by the watchman.

In September last, a 60-year-old man was tied to an electricity pole and thrashed by the locals after a six-year-old girl complained of sexual assault by him at Kapra.

Siddaiah is reported to have lured the girl to an isolated place and raped her. The girl came home crying with pain and narrated the incident to her parents who immediately caught the old man and tied him to an electricity pole. The locals punched and kicked the man before handing him over to the police.
