YV Subba Reddy hails rejection of Discom recommendations

YSRCP Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy expressed happiness at the AP Electricity Regulatory Commission's outright rejection of the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company's proposal to seek a hike in True Up charges to a tune of Rs 7208.66 crore.

In a statement issued on Friday, he said had the APERC accepted the recommendations, the common man would have been put to great hardship and power tariffs would have gone up. He said he had written to APERC chairperson justice Grandhi Bhavani Prasad as to how unjustified and irresponsible the recommendations are. He also explained how the Discoms were trying to pass on the costs of their inefficiency on the comman man.
Based on Subba Reddy's communication, the APERC rejected the recommendations. The Ongole MP thanked the commission for rejecting the recommendations.
