YSRCP withdraws no-confidence motion against Kodela

YSR Congress Party on Friday has dropped the no-confidence motion moved against Andhra Pradesh legislative speaker KodelaSivaprasada Rao.

The YSRCP had moved the no-confidence motion protesting against the alleged partisan attitude of the Speaker.
The YSRCP withdrew the motion responding to the request of BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju.

Speaking on the no-confidence motion in the Assembly, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that their intention was not to remove Kodela Sivaprasada Rao from the Speaker's post. " We were deeply pained by the way the House was being run and were hurt by the unfortunate incidents happened in the house. We hope that being a presiding officer, you would run the house in an orderly and just manner. Our party has only 67 MLAs and we never thought of removing you from the speaker post," he said.

He recalled that the YSRCP unanimously backed Kodela when his name was proposed for the Speaker's post. "We have immense faith and trust in him. We hope he would make sure that we don't get hurt in the house in the future, " he said.
