YS Jagan who has been relentlessly fighting to achieve special category status for the residuary Telugu state has appealed for an undisrupted discussion on SCS.

Amaravati: Intensifying protests for Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP party has lent its support to AP joint action committee (JAC)'s proposal for road blockade on National Highways in Andhra Pradesh on March 22 between 10 am to 2pm. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy responded to the call by asking his party leaders and cadres to participate and make it a successful one.

JAC leader Chalasani Srinivas asserted that if the Centre didn't bow down to their demands, they will intensify their agitation to make them realize what people’s anger could do. Another JAC leader and actor Shivaji said that, the next step would be blocking central government undertakings such as ONGC, Gail and HPCL. The JAC comprises YSRCP, Left Parties, Jana Sena Party, Aam Aadmi Party and all youth and students wings.

Notably, while everybody has come forward to support the SCS, TDP spokesperson Babu Rajendra Prasad has stated that their party will lend just moral support and not participate in it. It may be noted that the statement comes after TDP pulled out of NDA for failing to keep up the promise made at the time of AP bifurcation.

YSRCP on Monday organised human chains across the state claiming SCS a patent of YSRCP. Meanwhile, the stalemate over SCS continued as Lok Sabha adjourned for the third time following chaos by various political parties over No Confidence motion. Worried over the unproductivity of the Lower House following frequent adjournments, the AP Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has been relentlessly fighting to achieve special category status for the residuary Telugu state has appealed for an undisrupted discussion on SCS.

In a series of tweets YS Jagan ought the cooperation of all the political parties in the House for the crucial discussion. Stating that Special Category Status would be a lifeline to Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP President reaffirmed his party's resolve to fight for the people of AP. He also requested the Centre to fulfill its promise made on the floor of the house as a precondition to bifurcate the state.
