YSRCP Senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana questions Chandrababu Naidu on his fake claims.

Hyderabad: With the allegations levelled by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his partymen that it was YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who declared Rs10,000 under the Income Declaration Scheme proved wrong, YSR Congress Party has lashed out at the former for making false claims.

Speaking to media on Wednesday, senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana said Chandrababu was resorting to false propaganda against the Opposition leader to tarnish his image. The fact that the income disclosure by a small time businessman was fake proves beyond doubt that Chandrababu is also a big fake himself, Botsa said. He should at least learn a lesson from this incident and stop his Goebbelsian propoganda, he said.

The Fake Story Of Rs10000 Crore Income Disclosure

Interesting things are emerging as the Income-Tax department probes the case of Banapuram Lakshman Rao who disclosed Rs9,800 crore in black money under the Income Disclosure Scheme. In fact, he had debts to the tune of a few crore, leave alone a rupee of black money.

Banapuram Lakshman Rao, a retired employee of ECIL, floated a real estate company by name BLR Builders and Developers but was not successful. With a greed for money, he bought a money-doubling machine from a Baba in Barcas in city through a middleman by name Ramu. Then again on the advice of Ramu, he wanted to sell the machine to a party in Mumbai. Ramu personally handled the deal by going to Mumbai and told Lakshman that the deal was struck and the money was being transported in containers to Hyderabad. On hearing this, Lakshman declared that he had Rs9,800 crore and he will pay the tax on December 1.

Strangely, the I-T department believed his claim and deployed a few officials to handle the cash. They were waiting for the realtor to turn up with cash of Rs1,125 crore till late night. They made all arrangements to safe deposit the cash in the bank. Finally, the story ended when they raided the house and offices of Lakshman Rao only to find that he was a fake and heavily in debts.

After the story came out, people who had lent money including one from Yalal in Ranga Reddy district came forward stating that he owes them Rs 177 crore. Even a mason claimed that he was waiting for his Rs 20,000 owed by Lakshman.

One of Lakshman Rao's sons, Banapuram Santosh, a director of his companies, was an IIT Bombay product and he was the founding partner of a company called Hyderabad Goes Green.

The other partners of BLR Builders and Developers said he is no longer associated with the company which has now changed its name. Another son, Banapuram Pramod, founded a cafe called Paaka near University of Hyderabad which was shut down later.
