YSRCP to file defamation against media houses

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party is going to file a defamation case against the media houses that had published 'false and untrue' stories about a party meeting held on Monday in Hyderabad.

Speaking to media at party headquarters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, YSRCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said some newspapers had intentionally published some false news about the party’s meeting held in Hyderabad on Monday. He stated that his party had decided to lodge a complaint against those news agencies and newspapers for defamation. Media is taking sides instead of being objective and highlight the undemocratical issues, he stressed.

The YSRCP leader also criticised AP CM Chandrabau Naidu for failing in getting the sufficient funds for the state from the central government. He alleged that state government has failed to have good enough allocations in the General Budget presented on Monday in the Parilament just because of the compromising wih the centre.

He also slammed Chandrababu for unnerving the spirit of democracy by adopting the unethical politics encouraging defections to his party TDP. Srikanth Reddy also said that his party would go to move no confidence motion in the Legislature during the Assenbly sessions starting from March 5.

On the other hand, Narasaraopet MLA Gopireddy Srinivas reddy said in Narasaraopet that he would not quit his party YSRCP and be with its head YS Jagan till his last breath stressing he had got an identity in the politics by his party head only. Allocating only Rs.100 crore for Polavaram project is just a nominal and the state government had failed in getting sufficient allocations in the General Budget of 2016-17, he said.
