YSRCP stands by sugarcane farmers

Scores of farmers staged a dharna under the aegis of YSRCP leaders in front of Gajulamandem sugar factory in Tirupati protesting against the inordinate delay in payment of dues to the sugarcane farmers.

YSRCP Nagari MLA Roja also participated in the programme and demanded immediate steps from the management for the payment of dues.
Speaking on the occasion, she said Chandrababu who has been announcing in day and out that he would develop Andhra Pradesh on the lines of Singapore, "Is Chandrababu planning to kill agriculture in AP as Singapore has no farmers," she asked.
Chandrababu Naidu, who once has declared that agriculture was a waste, has changed tune during elections and he came to power saying he would waive crop loans soon after he came to power.
She recalled that YS Rajasekhara Reddy had released Rs 300 crore for the sugarcane farmers soon after he came to power. While YSR stood by the farmers, Chandrababu has been deceiving them with his false promises, Roja added.
The YSRCP MLA demanded the government to fix minimum support price of Rs. 3,000 per tonne for sugarcane.
