Vizianagaram: YSRCP leader Majji Srinivasa Rao on Saturday sought an explanation from Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on airport tenders that have been cancelled by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Speaking to media persons here today, the YSRCP leader demanded an answer from the Union Minister over the matter. "Gajapathi Raju who claims to be representing the Union Government, should answer the people in Andhra Pradesh as to what good he had done to the state," he said.

All the assurances from the Centre were ignored and the TDP leadership had failed completely in getting assurances fulfilled post-bifurcation. Vizianagaram Girijan university, Bhogapuram airport — all the promises made to the North Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions were ignored in the Budget allocations, he noted.

He criticised the TDP government for failing to pressurise the central government ahead of the Budget and ensure that AP gets its due. Since they have to face elections soon, TDP seems to feign anger at BJP, he mentioned and added YSRCP would organise a public meeting on February 10 in Vizianagaram to spell out the facts.
