YSRCP’s plea for fair polls in Pileru

In a letter to State Election Commission on Wednesday, YSR Congress Party sought its intervention on the prevailing conditions in the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s constituency Pileru where voters were not in a position to vote freely without fear in the local body elections.

The YSR Congress MLAs complained that the police and the revenue officials had acted with bias. Some officials were acting in favour of Congress party violating the rules. They expressed fear that the officials succumbing to pressures may resort to corrupt practices in the local body polls. The YSR Congress requested the Commission to take adequate measures to prevent such illegal practices in Pileru Assembly constituency and hold free and fair polls.
