YSRCP now gets whip issuing power

“YSRCP, led by Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy, now got whip issuing power in municipal and Zilla Parishad elections too along with general elections to assembly and parliament,” said state election commission in a press release.

The commission took the formal decision after the Election Commission of India (ECI) granted YSRCP a recognized party status. It said that YSRCP would get the same status with immediate effect.

ECI gave the party the status about two days ago.

With this, YSRCP now got all the powers,  recognized parties in the country enjoy.

YSRCP can now issue whip at the time of election of chairpersons of municipal and Zilla Parishad.
