YSRCP demands all party meet on drought

YSR Congress has demanded the TDP government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the steps to be taken to mitigate the drought situation in the state and sought a one-time settlement towards loan waiver of the farmers.

"When severe drought conditions are prevalent in the state, the TDP Government’s indifference is objectionable and we demand that it convene an all-party meeting to discuss the steps to be taken to mitigate the situation," Party MLA G Srinkant Reddy told reporters on Thursday. We also demand that the Government clear all the loans of farmers in a single installment which would benefit the farmer immensely, he said.

Questioning the reason behind releasing water from Srisailam without maintaining the minimum 854 feet level, he said: "is there any deal with the Telangana government on the issue and the water is being released over and above the usual quantity in wake of the cash for vote scam.

Reiterating that Rayalseema is being neglected badly, he said that the irrigation projects which were near completion during the term of YSR are still pending and Chandrababu Naidu is concentrating only on one region, he said.
