YSR was a charismatic leader: Gandra

The honorable reputation of late DR YS Rajashekhara Reddy lives on years after his demise. On Friday, former chief whip of Congress party, Gandra Venkataramana Reddy called YSR a charismatic leader.

Speaking to reporters in Warangal, Gandra said that Congress is tottering in erstwhile Andhra because the present crop of leaders lack YSR's charisma.  

Though a good number of people turned up for Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh's rallies, their impact on the voters is highly debatable.  

He observed that the turnout may not necessarily translate into votes for Congress.  

He added that lack of strong leadership is hurting Congress.
