Vizag: If Andhra Pradesh goes to elections today, YSR Congress Party will get 158-160 seats, according to the party general secretary and Rajya Sabha Member V. Vijayasai Reddy.

Revealing the results of a party survey at a meet the press organized by Vizag Journalists Forum (VJF) here on Saturday, Vijayasai Reddy said the party's voting percentage would shoot up this time as people's perception of the Opposition Leader's efficiency in containing the corruption in government had improved dramatically. Reminding the fact that YSRCP alone got 44 percent of the votes while all others put together including the ruling TDP got just 45 percent, a meagre 1 percent higher, Reddy said the situation has changed drastically for the ruling party because of its gross misrule and massive political corruption during the past two-and-a-half years.

Jai Andhra Pradesh Meetings For Special Status To AP

Vijayasai Reddy said special category status to Andhra Pradesh is indespensable in view of the losses suffered by the state due to bifurcation and the YSRCP will never give up the demand until the Centre sanctions it. "The party will get the special category status even after coming into power in the state in the 2019 elections," he declared.

However, he said the party would never ignore the other burning problems in the state and the fight would continue against the corruption and misrule of Chandrababu Naidu government.

Vijayasai Reddy visited the family of engineering student Pradeep who was murdered under mysterious circumstances at Kashimkota last week.

Vijayasai Reddy is participating in the Jai Andhra Pradesh meet in Vizag on Sunday.
