YSR Congress Party Demands CBI Probe into Amaravati Land Scam

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party on Wednesday demanded a CBI probe into the Amaravati land scam that was exposed by Sakshi newspaper.Speaking to media here, YSRCP spokesperson Ambati Rambabu lambasted the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for its involvement in the benami land purchase scandal in and around AP's new capital Amaravati.

Rambabu said the ruling party is misusing the power entrusted to it by people and looting the state left, right and center. "They are amassing money and luring Opposition MLAs into their party by offering Rs20 crore each," he charged. Instead of clarifying on their role in benami purchases of thousands of acres of land, they are just spewing venom at Sakshi Media Group and threatening to file cases, he pointed out and said the media house has all evidences in support of the stories published in Sakshi newspaper.

"CBI investigation can only bring the real culprits to book as the land mafia is being run none other than the chief minister himself," Rambabu said.
