YSRCP General Secretary Dharmana Prasada Rao derided the Chandrababu Government as having the singular distinction of surviving through the support of opposition MLAs. He hit out at Chandrababu Naidu for the unconsitutional manner in which he was seeking to run the government. Prasada Rao was speaking on the occasion of the commencement of the AP Leader of Opposition and YSRCP President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Idupalapaya this morning.
Dharmana ridiculed the TDP leadership for not only admitting 22 opposition legislators into their fold, but also rewarding four of them with ministers' portfolios. The TDP government is being run in the most undemocratic manner, he criticized.
Dharmana said that the Chandrababu govt secretly issued as many as 2000 GOs which itself is a reflection of the complete lack of transparency of the TDP Govt. Moreover, the voice of the opposition is being stifled in the Assembly and opposition legislators are not given an opportunity to voice the concerns and grievances of the masses in the House, he said.
Under the circumstances, the only option left for the opposition was to reach out to the masses which was the underlying objective of YS Jagan's mass outreach programme, he added.
The Praja Sankalpa Yatra is also aimed at pointing out the irregularities of the unconstitutional means the Chandrababu Govt is adopting. He appealed to the people of Andhra Pradesh to back and bless YS Jagan's mission to save democracy along every step of the way.
