YS Jagan’s Idupulapaya To Icchapuram #PrajaSankalpaYatra Takes Off 

Idupulapaya: AP's Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday launched his historic #PrajaSankalpaYatra to personally interact with over two crore people on his way from Idupulapaya to Icchapuram covering 125 constituencies across 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh along a 3,000-km route during the next six months.

Thousands of people reached the YSR Ghat where YS Jagan arrived early in the morning to pay tributes to his late father and undivided AP's chief minister Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy before launching his padayatra.

YSRCP's honorary president YS Vijayamma, YS Jagan's sister YS Sharmila, his wife YS Bharati Reddy and all his family members accompanied the leader during the launch of the Yatra at the Ghat. The Yatra was launched at 9.47am.

The Yatra will set the tone of elections in the state which is scheduled in early 2019.

The Yatra began with a campaign slogan: "Ravali Jagan, Kavali Jagan" to reflect people's eagerness to see Jagan Mohan Reddy as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. "Ravali Jagan, Kavali Jagan" is a resonance of public aspiration. Voters of the state have voiced their belief that only Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a true heir to Dr YSR can bring back the beloved late leader's golden age.

Meanwhile, YS Jagan on Saturday offered worship at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and invoked his blessings before embarking on the Yatra. He also performed pujas at Gandi Anjaneya Swamy temple in Pulivendula and offered prayers at CSI church and Pedda Dargah in Kadapa on Sunday.

The #PrajaSankalpaYatra is scheduled to continue in Pulivendula constituency in YSR Kadapa district for 8.9km on Day 1.

After the launch at Idupulapaya, the Yatra will head towards Maruti Nagar. After a brief lunch break, the Yatra would proceed via Veerannagattupalle where YS Jagan would hoist the party flag and then head via Kummarampalle, Vempally where the YSRCP chief would halt for the night. YS Jagan would sleep in the tents arranged at a space near Ravi petrol pump.

YS Jagan would meet people and leaders at the camps in the morning every day during the Yatra. By the end of day 2 on Tuesday, the Yatra would reach Veerapunayunipally in Kamalapuram constituency where YS Jagan would spend the night.

YSR Family All For People

The late Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy launched his Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on April 9, 2003 daring scorching summer temperatures. He covered 1,464 km before concluding the Yatra at Icchapuram in Srikakulam district on July 15. The historic Padayatra rejuvenated Congress cadres and brought back the party to power in the state in 2004 elections.

Sharmila's Praja Prasthanam

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister YS Sharmila began the Maro Praja Prasthanam on October 18, 2012 to console people shocked by the untimely death of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Launching her Yatra from her father's samadhi in Idupulapaya, Sharmila covered 14 districts and a distance of 3,112 km before she concluded her walkathon at Icchapuram.

YS Jagan would interact with people at 5,000 locations, and 180 social organisations and address 125 public meetings en-route the Yatra.

The party has set a goal to contact 45 lakh families from across the state during this Yatra.
