YS Jagan to tour capital region on March 3

YSR Congress Party President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will tour the capital area region in Guntur district on March 3 to know firsthand the plight of farmers who are not willing to part their land and to give voice to their feelings in the State Assembly in the ensuing budget session.

“The Leader of Opposition will tour seven villages in Mangalagiri assembly constituency and six in Tadikonda, including Thulluru, where farmers are being pressurized to part with their multicrop lands and the State has been run on commercial lines like a realtor,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Saturday.
The decision YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour was taken after the Farmers’ Rights Protection Committee of Party had toured the area and the locals have expressed their desire to meet the Leader of Opposition. The State has been using force to take away the multi-crop lands from the farmers by hook or crook and is using police force to scare them.
The proposed capital area is like a war zone with Ministers, TDP MLAs camping in the region and creating an atmosphere to scare the farmers who are not willing to give their land. “Using such coercion against farmers is not in the democratic spirit but it spells dictatorship,” he said.
This is just the beginning of the fight against the undemocratic ways of land pooling and in the coming days it will be intensified, he said adding that the party will stand by the farmers, farmhands, tenant farmers and others who will be affected by the land acquisition.
There has been a false propaganda against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that he is against the capital coming up in Vijayawada-Guntur region. “He has made it very clear in the Assembly itself that YSRCP is not against the capital coming up in the region but it is against the methodology being adopted by the State in forcibly acquiring multi-crop land,” Ambati Rambabu said.
