YS Jagan to launch Deeksha from Oct 7

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will now hold the indefinite deeksha from October 7. In a key development, the YSRCP had deferred the proposed indefinite deeksha at Guntur in view of the police denying permission to it.

Announcing the new dates, YSRCP senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana said the government’s objection to the indefinite fast was untenable as chief minister himself had undertaken such fasts as an opposition leader. The deeksha aims at bringing pressure on the centre to accord special status to Andhra Pradesh.

On Friday, the party announced that protesting against the state government’s attempts to deny permission to the proposed rally, it has decided to approach the AP High Court. In view of this, the party has decided to defer the deeksha originally scheduled for September 26.
