Nellore: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy challenged AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu by asking him if he was ready to join hands with YSRCP to achieve Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

YS Jagan participated in a face-to-face interactive session with women at Renamala in Nellore district. During the meeting, while answering a young girl's question on Special Category Status to AP, he mentioned that SCS was the lifeline of the state and YSRCP will not rest until it has been achieved. He asserted that the party MPs will pressurize the centre on the Special Category Status during the Budget Session of the Parliament which starts from March 5. They will continue their fight till April 6 when the Budget Session concludes, and even after that if they fail to achieve SCS for the state, the party MPs will resign, the YSRCP Chief pointed out.

He stated that the YSRCP party members across the state will conduct dharnas at all district collectorates on March 1. YS Jagan informed the large gathering that on March 3, all the party MPs, MLAs and senior leaders will come to the place where his Praja Sankalpa Yatra is being held from where he will flag off the party leaders to go to Delhi and fight for achieving Special Category Status for the state. He said that the party leaders will stage a protest in front of Parliament on March 5 with the slogan, "Special Status is Our Right, We Don't Need Special Package."

He called upon the TDP MPs also to resign so that the Centre will grant SCS to the state. If only all the 25 MPs resign, we will be able to stress on the need for Special Category Status, YS Jagan observed.
