YS Jagan seeks scribes' support for Aug 29 bandh

Lauding the journalists for their role in molding the society, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the media has the capability to bring about radical changes in the political system.

Speaking at the valedictory of the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists conference at Guntur, he said his late father YS Rajasekhara Reddy was his guiding light as far as media is concerned. “YSR always used to say that there should never be any differences with the mediapersons. I hold the same opinion as late YSR held,” he said. He recalled that YSR had given house sites to the journalists in the state.

He took the opportunity to explain the double standards and duplicity of Chandrababu Naidu. He said both TDP and the BJP had promised special state status to AP, but are now backtracking. He said the media should question these double standards. “Only then the solutions to the problems facing the state would be found,” he added.

He called upon the media to join the YSRCP-sponsored bandh on August 29 in support of the demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh. He expressed the apprehension that Chandrababu would personally oversee the attempts aimed at failing the bandh.
