YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said: “Centre says it will bear the entire cost of Polavaram project as part of the financial package, but it’s already in the Section 90 of the AP Reorganization Act.”

Hyderabad: Finding fault with Chandrababu Naidu welcoming the financial package announced by the Centre, YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded his resignation. He termed the day when the package was announced as a Black Day for AP.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, YS Jagan said: “How can Chandrababu welcome financial package when the future of 5.5 crore Telugus is at stake. What made him stop fighting for special status. Chandrababu Naidu should immediately apologize to the people for welcoming the financial package, should resign and also withdraw TDP ministers from the NDA government.”

YS Jagan further said that there’s nothing new in the financial package announced by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. “So why there was so much hype over the announcement and what was the necessary for making announcement at mid night. “What all announced in the financial package have already been given in the AP Reorganistion Act. What’s more new the Centre added in the financial package.”

Contending that the 14th Finance Commission did not oppose special category status and has only removed the distinction between Special Category State and non-Special Category Status post devolution,

YS Jagan said that Centre says it will bear the entire cost of Polavaram project as part of the financial package, but it’s in the Section 90 of the AP Reorganization Act.
