Hyderabad: In protest against the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's misuse of Ambedkar's name in the Assembly to divert the call money sex racket scam, YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday cleansed the statue of the father of Indian Constitution with milk.
"It was not Ambedkar's birth day, nor was it his death anniversary yesterday. It was not the day when Ambedkar started or completed writing the Constitution. No significant event of Ambedkar's falls on this day. If at all any such significance is attached to the day, Chandrababu did not even mention it until the Assembly was adjourned for the second time. Then came up with a strange proposal to discuss about Ambedkar in the Assembly, only to divert the matter and save his own skin. Nobody in India misused Ambedkar's name so blatently and shamelessly," Jagan Mohan said after paying tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution.
The winter session is scheduled only for five days and call money sex racket is the most serious issue which needs to be discussed threadbare so that all culprits are brought to book and justice is done to the poor victims, Jagan Mohan said.
Instead of taking steps to punish the culprits in call money sex racket, Chandrababu is only trying shield them as most of them belong to Telugu Desam Party, Jagan Mohan said. From Tank Bund, the party legislators went in a procession to Assembly.
