YS Jagan meets Sharad Yadav, requests to oppose Telangana

YSR Congress Party President Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy has met the Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav in New Delhi this evening and requested him to oppose the separate state of Telangana.

“Sharad Yadav has told me that they will discuss the issue with 11 other parties in their front. He responded to my request favourably. All of us will take the combined decision.”, said Kadapa MP.

Speaking on the occasion Jagan said that the UPA government was going ahead with the AP Reorganisation Bill – 2013 eventhough it was rejected by the Andhra Pradesh assembly.

“By doing so, the centre is causing a lot of damage to the Indian democracy itself”, explained Jagan.

He requested all the parties to oppose the injustice being done to Seemandhre region with the bifurcation of the state.

Jagan faulted the Speaker Meera Kumar for the way she introduced the bill in the house. He said that the speaker finished the entire process within 10 minutes.

“There is no democracy in the house. All the parties like SP,AIADMK, JD(U) and others have opposed the manner in which the proceedings in the house were going on”, said Jagan.

“Our MPs were suspended for five days. The centre is trying to get the bill approved in Lok Sabha in the absence of Seemandhra MPs in the house. This kind of injustice is unprecedented in the history”, commented the leader.
