Twin-Godavari farmers pour out Polavaram woes before YS Jagan

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inspected Dowlaiswaram barrage as part of his three-day Project Bata programme. He garlanded the statues of Sir Arthur Cotton, who constructed the barrage to benefit the countless farmers of Konaseema, and late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, whose Jalayagnam brought cheers to the harried farming sector, at Dowlaiswaram. YS Jagan inspected the on-going works of the 165-yr-old project. A large number of farmers lined up the route of Jagan's travel and poured out their woes. The unanimous opinion of the farmers is that the Pattiseema project would spell doom for Polavaram and also dash all the hopes of the delta farmers.  YS Jagan from Rajahmundry started his three-day tour to expose the TDP Government’s step-motherly treatment of the all-important irrigation sector. As part of this tour, all pending irrigation and water projects will be inspected and a report will be prepared.  Accompanied by all YSRCP MPs , MLAs and other leaders, YS Jagan will he would reach Polavaram project and inspect the works there. From Polavaram, he would reach Pattiseema project’s proposed site. He would also interact with the farmers from Pattiseema region to  gather their opinion about the project and understand why they are opposing the project.
