Vijayawada: The YSR Congress Party on Friday reiterated that the party president and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had every right to embark on a foot march in the state and no permission whatsoever was required for the proposed PrajaSankalpaYatra that’s all set to begin on November 6.

Speaking to the media in Vijayawada, party general secretary Talasila Raghuram said, the YSRCP had conducted hundreds of public meetings and rallies before and after the bifurcation of the state, but no law and order problem ever arose at any point of time. Every programme was conducted peacefully with the voluntary participation of millions of people, he said, adding, that if any problem were to come up, it could be only because of the TDP. It's an open secret as to who torched the train in Tuni during the Kapu reservation movement, Raghuram said, hinting that the ruling party men were behind the incident. They can go to any extent to malign our party, he said and asked the party cadres to be alert to the conspiracies of TDP.

As a leader of Opposition and a man of the masses, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy not only enjoyed every right to mingle with the people, but also has a responsibility to stand by them in their hour of crisis, to instill confidence in them, the YSRCP leader said. Farmers and youths are committing suicides as they have lost all hopes in the government. YS Jagan's padayatra is intended to give them assurance and to prevent them from resorting to suicide as the government had failed on all fronts, he said.

"Instead of hatching plans to disturb Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the AP government should take up measures to provide security to our leader who is covered under Z-Plus category. If anything goes wrong, the government is totally responsible," Raghuram said.

After paying tributes to late Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy at his samadhi in Idupulapaya, YS Jagan will launch the #PrajaSankalpaYatra at 9am on Monday. The Padayatra will continue in YSR Kadapa distict covering 100kms in five constituencies. YS Jagan would cover around 15kms on foot during the daytime interacting with people of villages en route.
