Hyderabad: NDA presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday met YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Park Hyatt to seek the support of his party legislators for the July 17 election.

While extending YSRCP's support for him, YS Jagan presented a shawl and bouquet to Kovind and introduced the party MLAs and MPs to him. Later, Kovind held discussions with the YSRCP leaders and sought their support to him for the coveted post. Kovind is on a pan-India tour to seek support from various political parties.

It may be recalled that YSRCP extended support to Ram Nath Kovind as soon as his candidature was finalized by the BJP. Soon after the NDA took a decision, BJP president Amit Shah telephoned YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and sought the YSRCP’s support to the candidate.

YS Jagan conveyed to Amit Shah that his party would support Kovind’s candidature for the top post as he was a Dalit leader.
