Yemeni student arrested for selling narcotic

A Yemeni student was on Wednesday nabbed on the charge of selling Khat leaves (a narcotic), with the seizure of 81 bundles of the contraband from his possession, police said.

 Acting on a tip-off, officers from the Commissioner's Task Force (South Zone) raided an apartment in Asif Nagar and arrested Emad Saif Mohammed, who allegedly procured the leaves from Yemen and Ethiopia through a Mumbai-based supplier named Javed and sold them to foreigners in Hyderabad.
 Emad came to India on a student visa in 2010 and was pursuing MBA at a college in Masabtank here.
 According to the police, the leaves were smuggled as a vegetable in air cargo.
