In a strange incident, a train that began its journey from Delhi and was headed for Maharashtra reached Madhya Pradesh leaving the passengers shocked and confused.

The passengers, mostly farmers, numbered around 1,500 and were travelling from Delhi to Maharashtra on board the Swabhimani Express. The farmers were in Delhi for the November 20 ‘Kisan Mukti Sansad’ protests and were returning home. They boarded the train in Delhi at 10 pm on November 21. The train halted at Mathura station at around 2 am. It was then diverted to a wrong track and travelled 160 kilometres on the wrong route, a report by TV9 Marathi stated.

Instead of reaching Kolhapur at 6 am as per schedule, the farmers found themselves in a station called Banmor in Madhya Pradesh.
