Hyderabad: Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan on Thursday said he would like to interact more with chief ministers of the two states in the coming year to amicably address issues of mutual concern.

To increase the frequency of meetings between the three of us; the two chief ministers and me that is an objective during this new year. I am confident that I will succeed. The three of us will be able to sit together and discuss issues, the Governor said in an interaction during New Year celebrationshere.

The possible interaction between Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao of Telangana assumes significance in the wake of contentious issues like conduct of entrance exams for professional courses, sharing of assets and facilities between the two states.

Appreciating that the two chief ministers had a vision for progress, Narasimhan hoped that fruits of development would be witnessed this year.

On the ongoing row over conducting the Engineering, Agriculture, Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), Narasimhan said he has spoken to the education ministers of the two states and is awaiting an official communication on the issue.

Telangana chief minister met the Governor today and conveyed New Year greetings to him. He is understood to have talked to the Governor on different issues. Naidu, who is away on a visit to Vijayawada, met the Governor yesterday on New Year's eve.
