In Indonesia, a woman who said she was sexually harassed repeatedly by her boss, the headmaster of a school, was shockingly jailed for six months by the country’s Supreme Court, for sharing a phone conversation in which he made some explicit comments. The victim did so she said, in order to prove that he was sexually harassing her. The Supreme Court ruled against the teacher, Baiq Nuril Maknun saying she was guilty of spreading "indecent" material.

The school teacher complained that the headmaster repeatedly harassed her from 2013, through lewd phone calls, in Mataram, a city on the island of Lombok. The headmaster reported her to police in 2015 and the cops in turn, registered a case against her, sparking an outrage among rights activists.

The headmaster after losing his job, filed a complaint against her for circulating their conversation on social media. She denied the charge, saying someone else uploaded it. The Supreme Court however, found her guilty and sentenced her to six months in prison. On Thursday, the apex Court in Indonesia, dismissed a plea saying that she had failed to produce any fresh evidence in the case in her favour.
