Telugu Is A Sweet Language: KCR At WTC

Hyderabad: The first-ever World Telugu Conference being organised by the Telangana government kick-started at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.

Vice-President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, Governor ESL Narasimhan, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and many of his cabinet colleagues including Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari and Mahmood Ali, IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and others attended the inaugural ceremony at LB Stadium. Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudanachary, Legislative Council Chairman Swami Goud, Hyderabad MP, MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, Rajya Sabha Member Dr. K. Keshava Rao and a host of Telugu language lovers attended the inaugural.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao lauded the literary treasures that had been built by the Telugu poets of Telangana and litterateurs from Bammera Pothana to Dr. C. Narayana Reddy over the centuries. He urged Telugu lovers to contribute to further elevation of the language.

Despite being a hardcore politician, KCR electrified the gathering with his oratorical and literary talent by citing Telugu poems with ease and command. The audience was spellbound throughout KCR's 30-minute long speech.

Earlier, the CM felicitated his guru Brahmasri Mrutyunjaya Sharma and bowed down at his feet as a mark of reverence.
