Women To Get ‘KCR Kit’ Post Delivery

Hyderabad: The Telangana government would be providing a 'KCR Kit' to poor women post-delivery. The kit named after chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao consists of items like soaps, shampoos and towels etc. The main objective of the scheme is to reduce the infant mortality rate and encourage institutional deliveries in the state. The state government has earmarked a budget of Rs605 crore for the year 2017-18.

Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy, who held a meeting with officials of his department asked them to compile necessary data by the month-end to facilitate distribution of the kits, according to a state government release. The minister, who also held a meeting with superintendents of different government hospitals in the state, said the government is supplying modern equipment to the hospitals. The superintendents should hold meetings frequently to sort out problems expeditiously, he said
