Woman’s Body Stuffed In Plastic Bag Washed Ashore

Mumbai: The body of a married young woman, stuffed in a plastic bag, was washed ashore in Santacruz beach. The police found the body at around 11 AM on Wednesday. The victim was suspected to have been bludgeoned to death by assailants with a blunt object.

The police said that there was a severe injury on her forehead and bleeding from her nose and head. The police suspect that the incident may have occurred during the last 24 hours as the body has not yet decomposed. A mangal sutra around her neck indicated that she was a married woman. They suspect that the body could have been dumped in the sea and may have been swept ashore.

The police registered a case and launched an investigation. All the police stations in the neighbouring areas of Thane have been alerted and a photograph of the victim was sent to all the police stations.

The police are waiting for the post-mortem report.
