Woman Tries to Kill Ailing Husband, Jumps From 13th Floor Balcony to Death

Hyderabad: Distressed by husband’s ‘Parkinson’ disease, Satya Sai Lakshmi (58) tried to kill him with a stone used in kitchen and ended her life jumping from their balcony of 13th floor.

She died on the spot while her husband Murali is in a critical condition undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident took place at My Home Jewel Apartment in Miyapur on Tuesday.

Miyapur inspector K. Ramesh said that Y. Murali Krishna (63) was suffering from Parkinson disease for the last four years. Living with his wife and two sons, he runs an electrical and hardware business.

“After her two sons left for work, Lakshmi took a pestle from the kitchen and repeatedly hit hard on her husband’s head and left him in pool of blood and then ended her life by jumping from the balcony,” said Ramesh.

Neighbors informed the victims’ sons when they found the body of Lakshmi on the ground floor. Murali was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment. A case has been registererd under section 174 of CrPC.

Ramesh said the couple never had a squabble and lead a peaceful life. The severity of Murali’s diseases could be the reasons for the drastic step taken by Lakshmi.

The couple’s elder son Omkar works as a private employee while the younger son Ganesh works in a Pharma company.
