'Woman should be first CM of Telangana'

Former minister D.K.Aruna asked Congress high command to give the post of chief minister of Telangana to a woman legislator only.

“Women, who are half in population in the society, can be given the post,” commented Aruna.

She clarified that she is in the race for the post of chief minister.

Speaking to the reporters in Hyderabad on Saturday, she said, “Congress party will form the first government in Telangana. As per my estimation, Congress will get 50 seats here. The party has still a chance to win another 15 seats. It introduced several welfare schemes for the people of the state. Further, the party granted Telangana. Due to these reasons, Congress will surely form the government in the new state.”

She said that TRS president K.Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to create confusion in the people in the name of surveys.

She said, “Congress party will get 10 seats in Mahbubnagar district. There is no need for us to lure TRS candidates. It is not proper for KCR to make such kind of allegations on Congress party.”
