Woman Passenger Burnt To Death As Running Bus Catches Fire

Hyderabad: An elderly woman passenger was burnt to death in a bus that caught fire while moving near Bengaluru on Tuesday morning.

Bhagyamma was traveling on the bus from Chikkamagaluru along with 25 other passengers. When the bus was nearing its destination, at around 50km from Bengaluru, fire erupted in the engine of the bus and the woman could not get out before she caught fire.

Two other passengers also sustained serious burn injuries and the panic stricken co-passengers could not help her get out of the bus and she was engulfed by the blaze which burnt her to ashes.

The bus belonged to KSRTC. The bus was reduced to ashes as fire could not be put out as no help could reach the spot.
