Woman kills her two children, attempts suicide in Medak

Hyderabad, Distressed over financial problems, a woman poisoned to death her two children and later attempted suicide with her mother by jumping into a lake in Medak on Wednesday. She survived while her mother died.

As per reports, the incident took place in Medak town, about 100 km from here. Police said, Shyamala, working as a peon in Medak municipal office, poisoned her two children Spandana, 7, and Nandish, 5, Wednesday night.

Later, Shyamala along with her mother Rajamani jumped into a nearby lake. While Rajamani died, Shyamala survived. She was shifted to the government-run hospital in the town, where her condition is stated to be critical.

Police said Shyamala wrote a 10-page suicide note, citing financial problems and loan burden as the reason for the extreme step.
