Woman fights to get a glimpse of her daughter

A woman has been requesting her in-laws to get back her daughter for the past two and a half years. As all of her efforts were invain, she expressed her pathetic situation at Somajiguda Press Club on Saturday.

Palle Bharathi, the victim, got married to Venkata Ramana Reddy, the nephew of Puttaprathi ex MLA Palle Raghunatha Reddy on 3 July, 1999. A dowry of Rs.20 lakhs was given to Venkata Ramana at the time of marriage. The couple went to USA after the marriage. However, Venkata Ramana harassed Bharathi physically and mentally for additional dowry.

With this, Bharathi requested the intervention of Raghunatha Reddy with no use. “When i was pregnant in 2003, my in-laws pressurized me to opt for abortion. But, I denied it and gave birth to a baby girl then,” said Bharathi. I was again pregnant in 2007 and my in-laws forcibly did abortion for me knowing that it was again a baby girl. When I landed in Delhi from USA along with my daughter Trisha, my husband took away my daughter and asked me not to try to meet him in future.”

After that, I had to be silent for sometime after the promise of Raghunatha Reddy that he would do justice to me. But, I got unexpected divorce notice from my husband in September 2011. With this, I filed a complaint at Proddutur police station on the injustice done to me. But, again I had to withdraw my complaint based on the words of Raghunatha Reddy.

“I have been fighting for justice since then with no use. I am requesting all women organizations to help me in getting back my husband and my daughter,” said Bharathi.
