Will the PCC chief quit before the axe falls on him?

Hyderabad: The terrible loss faced by the Congress party in the Greater Hyderabad Elections has placed a lot of pressure on the state leadership here. According to some, the Congress high command is said to be very displeased by the fact that the Congress managed to garner just two seats. The axe may soon fall on the PCC leadership in Telangana.

Lack of proper coordination within the Congress leadership is also being pointed out as one of the reasons for such a disastrous performance. The Telangana PCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy might be in the direct line of fire. His leadership in the recently concluded Warangal by-poll elections, where the TRS won with a huge majority, has also not worked in his favour. The high command has asked for the latest report on the latest results.

A few other say that Uttam Kumar is contemplating to resign, owing up to the dismal performance of the Congress in the elections. Greater Pradesh party chief Danam Nagender's resignation earlier on Saturday has also added to the pressure on Uttam Kumar.

However there might not be any changes in the PCC leadership until the Assembly bypoll elections for the Narayankhed constituency, to be held on the February13. The PCC may go in for a complete reorganisation only after the Narayankhed bypoll, some say.
